Wade Park, with its impressive and gracious homes, has long been an admired neighborhood on Cleveland’s east side. It is also a gateway to University Circle to the south and the Glenville’s bustling commercial district of East 105th St. to the north. Once a playground for Cleveland’s 19th century elite, it transformed into a neighborhood for the growing and prosperous Jewish community in the early 20th century. By the 1950’s Cleveland’s up and coming African Americans claimed the neighborhood as its home. These days, it is undergoing a rebirth, with new housing that recognize its storied past and exciting future.
